Bristlecone Pine

Bristlecone pine

Bristlecone pine

I originally captured this image in color, but decided recently to print it in black and white as well, to see what it would look like. What do you think? Some of these weathered bristlecone pines are over 5000 years old, one of the oldest living things on earth — a marvel of Creation. I sure wouldn’t want to be the one to count the rings of the tree and lose count though…

A hint of summer color

This photo was taken with an iPad last summer. I still feel awkward holding up a flat board as a camera, but I’m getting used to it. It serves its purpose taking snapshots for a blog or website. I do regret not having my real camera with me for this image. I love the rich texture in this image, it exemplifies the bounty of the earth given to us. One anticipates a loaf of heavenly smelling bread. The green shoot is just a lovely surprise.
